$16,000. That’s the amount I made in my first year of teaching high school English. My entire salary. For the year. It’s also the amount I made last week as a Beachbody coach. For one week.
It’s hard to share, but I HAVE to share.
If we have been friends on social media for any amount of time, you know I don’t talk about money very often. I talk about what life was like BEFORE Beachbody and how I’ve been blessed to create incredible experiences and opportunities for my family WITH Beachbody. But I rarely talk actual numbers.
Maybe because both my husband and I were drawn to professions that were not about the money — coaching, teaching, fitness. Maybe it’s because I’m fearful that others will think that I only build this business because of the money. Maybe it’s because talking about money has a weird vibe in our society. Who knows?
Make an income BECAUSE you make an impact.
TRUTH: You can’t be a Beachbody coach *only* because of the income potential…that’s gross and you just can’t. This biz is truly about helping others (including ourselves) live their best and healthiest life…and if you come into this JUST for the money, it just. won’t. work. {And I wouldn’t want you on my team}
This business takes hard work. A lot of it. It’s about your HEART and your SOUL and wanting to make a DIFFERENCE. It’s about wanting to be just a little bit better today than you were yesterday. It’s about wanting to connect people with solutions that WORK. It takes time and consistency and rock-solid belief when it gets challenging and it takes mentors and drive and love. It takes tears and joy. It’s hard and it’s the MOST amazing gig on the planet. And yes, there is income potential and THANK GOODNESS for it.
My girls deserve every chance to create the life THEY want to create.
I talk incessantly about the fitness and the nutrition and the tribe a lot, I know this and am okay with it. But shame on me for not talking about the income potential MORE. Because I for sure needed the income to provide these 3 amazing girls of ours with the most experiences and opportunities possible.
They deserve every chance to create the life THEY want to create and how do you even know what kind of life you want unless you SEE and EXPERIENCE what is out there?? And that was on me as the parent to make sure they had that chance because after all, we chose to bring them in this world.
The gift is in the giving.
Maybe you think, well I don’t need any more income. That’s amazing! But a lot of other people do. This business has blessed me with the opportunity to GIVE. To give more than I ever thought we would be able to give to the arts. To give more to our church. To give more to my incredible team. If you have ever gone to bed at night wondering how you were even going to get to the end of the month, you know how much it means to be able to GIVE…because there have been people in your life who’ve helped you.
We struggled financially for years
My husband and I have been married 25 years and for most of those years, we’ve struggled financially. So there’s still debt to pay. But the thing is — we CAN now. We CAN pay the debt, the loans, the bills…and give back, and pay it forward, and create experiences and opportunities. Because of this incredible little ‘fitness business’ that has changed our lives in every way possible.
I had a dream for a better life for my family…a life where our girls could pursue their passions, where we could travel, where we could create memories as a family, a life where we served others and made a difference.
