What does loving yourself have to do with success? Everything.
So many of us have minimized our dreams, squashed our goals, and made life decisions that keep us playing and living small. We often do this in the name of serving others—being a good wife, a good mom, a good ______ (you fill in the blank). Or we’ve let voices from our past dictate our worth and potential. No matter the backstory, at one point or another we’ve stopped valuing and caring for ourselves.
And the worst part? We didn’t even notice. We tend to live our lives on autopilot, not paying attention to what we’re doing (or even more importantly, NOT doing) or where we’re headed. It’s survival mode. Most of us have been there. Maybe you’re there right now.
I think about my 92-year-old mom who settled for average and let life get away from her. Here she stands now at the end of her life facing her biggest regrets. Thinking about the dreams she left unpursued, the risks she didn’t take, the adventures that never happened…the life that went unlived.
It’s time to wake up, friends!
We can do better. We have to. Let’s refuse to keep drifting and start living this one wild and crazy life we’ve been given. Let’s start loving ourselves enough to seek change. Together we can think BIG, dream BIG, and achieve BIG things.
What dreams have you packed away? What did you write off as impossible a long time ago? How could you love yourself better? What would you do with your life if you had the resources and connections to do anything?
There are two things that can get you where you want to be: a PLAN and a TRIBE.
Without those, you’ll be like a ship lost at sea. You might know where you want to end up, but have no idea how to get there. I’ve been growing an incredible team of online fitness coaches for over a decade now. We have created a powerful community with tons of resources and tools in place to help us succeed. To love ourselves—and each other—well, and to rise together like a tide lifts all ships.
If you’re craving life change, I want to invite you to join us. Fitness is where it starts, but life change is the magic that happens. So, turn off the autopilot, ditch the excuses, and step into an opportunity that could change everything for you and your family. Start loving yourself enough to seek out the best version of you.
For me, it started with a bunch of maybes.
- Maybe I could take better care of myself and start feeling good…
- Maybe we could afford my daughter’s dance lessons…
- Maybe I could say “yes!” more often to fun experiences and extras for our family…
- Maybe my husband and I could stop arguing about money so much…
- Maybe I could create the life I’d envisioned for us…
Those little maybe dreams blossomed into realities as I stepped out as an online fitness coach. I fought through the self-doubts, the excuses, and the fears, and just went for it. By making daily smart choices around fitness and nutrition, I got into the best shape of my life. And surrounded by a supportive team and tons of resources, I slowly built my business day by day and relationship by relationship. As my dreams were realized, those around me wanted to be part of what I was doing. Ten years later, there are thousands of us around the country who are using fitness together to transform our lives and so many others’ lives, too.
You can have excuses or you can have success; you can’t have both.” -Jen Sincero
