Julie Voris: Routine vs. Rut

In this episode, I talk about our daily routines, how to spot when something is off, and how to dig out of that rut. I go through some tips to focus on when making sure your routines are serving you in different seasons of life.

[03:24] GUT CHECK

Sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference between a routine and a rut. The best thing to do is to check in with yourself. A routine will help you feel grounded, whereas a rut makes you feel stuck.

[07:43] FIXING A RUT #1

Checking your habits is the first of three tips I have for fixing a rut. Ask if they are still serving you. Take charge when you start to feel like you are in a rut and shake up the habits that aren’t working for you anymore.

[14:05] FIXING A RUT #2

The second suggestion is to make small changes. It doesn’t have to be big, it just needs to shake up your routine a little. It can be anything from nutrition, hydration, or your wake up time.

[16:22] FIXING A RUT #3

The third tip is to check in with your community. Your community and who you are around makes a big difference in your life. They will influence who you are and who you want to become.

[21:49] SUCCESS

People who reach levels of their own definition of success are willing to gut check themselves. They put in the work, set boundaries, and make changes. The biggest thing with all of that, is they are willing to do it for the long haul.
