It’s never been more important to attend to our own bodies and minds, even as we’re taking care of others.
Because at the end of the day, we all want to feel good in our own skin and stay healthy, no matter what’s going on in the world.
With the COVID-19 pandemic swirling around us, there are plenty of memes and confessions, of sorts, filling up our feeds. Wine o’ clock, anyone? Cake for breakfast (again)! While I get the attempt at humor, I don’t think it’s funny. And here’s why:
Drinking too much isn’t self-care.
Binging Netflix isn’t self-care.
Overeating isn’t self-care.
These things are more like escapes than self-care, and often are detrimental to our minds and bodies (the opposite of caring for ourselves).
So how do we ramp up true, life-changing self-care, especially in stressful times? How do we keep our bodies functioning optimally, our immune systems firing on all cylinders, and our minds centered and peaceful?
Fitness and nutrition are the secret sauce.
We are what we eat and how we treat our bodies. Over a decade ago, I made the pivotal decision to become a Beachbody fitness coach. And along with that came daily workouts and putting incredible, nutrient-dense real food into my body every single day. I knew this was good for me. I knew I’d feel better. I knew I wanted others to feel this way, too. But what I didn’t know was this: Making fitness and nutrition a priority would change my entire life from the inside out.
Over the years I’ve been privileged to help thousands of other women find this same transformation, too. And it never gets old.
It’s also never been easier to make fitness and nutrition a priority in your life. Today we have access to tools, resources, and community like never before. All it takes is a commitment to take better care of yourself—and a willingness to stick with it.
True self-care means treating your body and mind exceptionally well—putting in more of the good stuff and less of the not-so-good stuff. It means moving your body every single day and working those muscles, lungs, and your heart and giving your body the hydration, nutrients, and vitamins needed to thrive.
Taking good care of yourself isn’t hard, I promise. You don’t have to overthink fitness and nutrition. And I’m here to set you up with all the tools, resources, and community that you need to do this. I think you’ll be shocked at how easy and economical it is to get going. For less than what most of us spend dining out each month, you can literally transform your life through Beachbody nutrition, workouts, training, and support. It’s unbelievable if you think about it, really. Message me if you want to learn more. I’m here for you!
